A Wardley Map for Generative AI

June 25, 2023June 20, 2024

As technology continues to evolve, we see new and exciting innovations every day. One of the latest disruptive technologies is Generative AI, which has the potential to revolutionize the way we interact with machines and even our own creativity. However, with new technology comes new challenges, and it can be challenging to understand where and how to apply these tools. This is where Wardley Maps can be exceedingly helpful.

In my Wardley map for generative AI, I suggest that foundational models and runtime infrastructure have already reached a commodity stage, meaning they are widely available and standardized. As a result, the focus should shift towards improving the user interface (UI) and fine-tuning the AI models to cater to organization-specific needs. This approach will help organizations leverage the benefits of generative AI more effectively by tailoring the technology to their unique requirements and enhancing the overall user experience.
